This being said, this dental office has my highest recommendation and am very surprised it's hiding in a little town like Philipsburg. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could.
From the front desk to the dentist - Dr. Harkins and his crew have always demonstrated the highest degrees of professionalism and excellence. Once you walk in, you're immediately greeted by a waiting room that's more spacious and comfortable than many hotel lobbies. Neither I, nor the other people in the lobby even had to register at the front desk, as the receptionist already matched up our arrival times with who we were. This is the same individual who handled my insurance with much more skill and efficiency than I had received at other "leading" dentists in the big city.
The professionalism is severally lacking at the front desk and billing department. I have had several bad experiences from PA dentists. We will be looking for another practice. I just think they are not an honest business on the up and up. Screw someone over to make a buck buisness
I travel all the way from Cleveland Ohio to go see Dr. Harkins. I just went today and have reaffirmed that he and his team are worth the four and half hour trip.
I can also safely say with no exaggeration that Ashley is hands down the best and most pleasant dental hygienist I've ever had. She was extremely delicate on my teeth and gums, yet cleaned everything thoroughly. Moreover, she patiently responded to my questions about flossing techniques, toothpicks, and other concerns about my teeth and gums. I've also had very similar experiences with Carrol, who is similarly skilled and takes great pride in doing an outstanding job.
Finally, Dr. Harkins provided exquisite service after my cleaning. He answered any questions I had, was extremely personable, polite, and has a wonderful sense of humor. You can really tell the guy knows what he's doing and hires extremely qualified staff.
